Tai Chi Circling Hands miniseries

Full Course £60 or £30 per day.

I love Tai Chi Circling Hands and look forward to teaching it in April! Please do join us.

Tai Chi Circling Hands is a great set to explore the topic of circularity in Tai Chi. The movements of Tai Chi are full of circularity, with no straight lines but instead your hands and arms are always moving in curves and arcs. Tai Chi Circling Hands really focuses on this aspect by simplifying all the moves into circles, so that your mind can fully feel and grasp the nature of circularity whilst your hands are “drawing” circles in the air.

Overview: This class is dedicated to the fundamentals of Tai Chi and is where we recommend beginner's start. We look at an ancient set of movements that teaches all of the essential alignments and movement principles in the most simple format possible. It is the foundation of the internal arts and it makes learning any Tai Chi form much easier.

The structure of the class is:

  • Warm up and opening the body exercises

  • Standing alignments and sinking qi practice

  • Simple repetitive movements to learn the internal techniques of Tai Chi in a move called Cloud Hands

  • Fascial stretches to increase qi flows and deep body connection

BEGINNERS TAI CHI

An Introduction to Tai Chi. Highly recommended you also attend the 12pm Fundamentals class, as we will

integrate all lessons learnt there into this Tai Chi class. The Tai Chi Form (i.e. movements) that we will learn is what is traditionally called a “small frame” from the traditional Yang Style of Tai Chi, called the Wu Style of Tai Chi.

Small frame tai chi is usually recommended for:

 - Meditation

 - Health

 - Stress release

Its benefits come about through the deep relaxation of the nervous system and the release of energy

blockages rather than through any kind of force. Consequently it is safe and gentle and can be taken up

by virtually anyone.

The structure of the class is:

  - Learning the movements of the Tai Chi form in a mixture of formats, that will range from solo

practice, partner exercise, and group practice led by the instructor at the front.

Please use the contact form to book yourself into a course or to ask any questions about my classes.

This class is open to all ages, gender. However, if you have mobility issues, please contact me ahead of time.
